Folding Power: The Impact of the Rao Knife
The rao knife stands
as a revolutionary milestone in the evolution of tactical folders, bridging the gap between
portable pocket tools and full-sized survival instruments. Originally commissioned by the
185° RRAO Italian Paratroopers, the rao knife is specifically
designed to withstand extreme mechanical stress, providing soldiers with a secondary
survival blade that can be locked into a fixed position for heavy-duty chopping and
intensive field operations.
What sets the rao knife apart is its
unique screw-in security pin, which effectively transforms the folding
mechanism into a rigid, non-folding unit. This characteristic makes the rao
knife an essential asset for modular gear setups, offering the structural
integrity of a fixed blade with the convenience of a foldable design. Its
high-carbon N690 steel blade ensures that the rao knife
retains a razor-sharp edge even after clearing vegetation or preparing emergency shelters in the
wild.
Beyond its military pedigree, the rao
knife has become a legendary choice for professional bushcrafters and survival
experts who refuse to compromise on strength. Every rao knife is a masterpiece
of Italian engineering, featuring a massive 6mm thick blade and an ergonomic
handle that minimizes fatigue during prolonged use. By integrating a rao knife
into your tactical kit, you are investing in a multi-role survival system that
sets the gold standard for heavy-duty folding cutlery across the globe.
