For nearly 30 years, Extrema Ratio has crafted knives for those who demand nothing less than absolute reliability. BFK comes from that same approach: machined scales for a secure grip, zeroed tolerances, a mechanism that conveys solidity with every opening. The move to a folding blade came without compromise: it simply added the gesture.
The mechanism
At the heart of the BFK is the Crossbar Lock system, securing the blade open with a play-free lockup. It can be operated with one hand, equally from either side, while keeping the fingers clear of the edge’s path when closing. Fast opening, controlled closing; the lock settles with a solid, reassuring sound, and within a few days, the motion becomes muscle memory.
How you will carry it
In your pocket, with the clip. The reversible clip allows for fully ambidextrous carry, keeping the knife discreetly positioned along the edge of the pocket. Its low weight fades into the rhythm of everyday use. From morning to night, the BFK goes with you through the day—there when needed, light and unobtrusive when put away.
One steel, five personalities
The blade is made from N690, a balance proven over decades: hardness, resilience, and reliable performance year after year. The right steel for a knife that works every day. Choose your preference:
- BLACK and TACTICAL MUD (aluminium handle, burnished blade): The essential versions of the range: machined aluminium and a burnished finish that absorbs the light. Black in its purest simplicity; Tactical Mud with the same discipline, in a warmer tone.
- GREEN (carbon fiber handle, stonewashed blade): The visible carbon weave combines rigidity and lightness; the blade’s stonewashed finish complements its contemporary character.
- AVIO (G10 handle, stonewashed blade): G10 does not absorb water, does not shift with heat or freezing temperatures, and does not change in size or surface over the years, remaining the same as it was on the first day. The color is aviation blue, discreet and technical, with an aeronautical heritage reflected in its name.
- TOBACCO (Micarta handle, stonewashed blade): Micarta is a material that favors use: over time, it develops greater depth. The warmest character and color of the five.

The dimensions of the range
BFK (195.5 mm overall length, 82 mm blade) is the full-size folder in the series. BFK ZERO brings the same mechanism into a compact format, for even more discreet carry. Two mechanisms, five variants, one standard. On the fixed-blade side, the PIXEL, MICRO and NANO range is built with the same attention to construction and detail.
