The comparison test is carried out on the armonic steel wire of a dyameter of 1,5 mm, 2 mm, 2,2 mm, on barbed wire, steel rope and parachuting cord.
In order to obtain a clearer result, a comparison with most representative foreing bayonets has been carreid out.
Bayonets showing the best cutting capacity on hardest materials are those having harder sheaths and therefore heavier ones. Those with slimmer blade which bend and follows the cutting surface, resulted fitting to soft material cutting. The steel rope caused problems of cutting part enlargement in the AK series, while most of the bayonets with stronger blade showed incostant results caused by tollerance between blade and sheath. Thanks to the harder steel, to the right angle of the cutting blade corner and to the structural improvement since 2006, the current Fulcrum Bayonet version is able to cut also the steel rope.
